It’s probably safe to start this off with a mash-up, right? What could go wrong?
For background, read this post (or this one), but the short version is that I’ve been collecting holiday music for decades and at this time of the year, I share ‘em with you.
The Swedish producer Divide & Kreate has been mixing for about 5 years. On this track, he blends “Jingle Bells” by Smokey Robinson & The Miracles with “Sweet Jane” by The Velvet Underground. (There’s also a bit of Public Enemy, the Beatles, the Jackson 5 and A Charlie Brown Christmas in there.)
Then British Producer M. J. Cole offers a remix of “All I Want For Christmas (Is My Two Front Teeth),” as recorded by the King Cole Trio with The Starlighters back in 1949. I’ve never cared for the tune, but this particular version is quite appealing.
