Sydney Pollack and Dustin Hoffman in Tootsie

It’s really sad to hear about the passing of Sydney Pollack. I’m not sure he was a great director, not with films like The Electric Horseman and Havana. But he was a good craftsman and I consider Three Days of the Condor to be one of the best political thrillers ever made. I thought he was a fantastic actor and I loved watching him in anything.

I really like Tootsie, mostly for the great cast (especially Bill Murray) and the amazing script by Larry Gelbart, Murray Schisgal, Barry Levinson, and Elaine May. From the whole film, this early scene with Pollack and Dustin Hoffman is my favorite.
