By coincidence, I notice that many of these songs are originals, rather than cover versions, and I also notice that there’s only one traditional carol. It wasn’t intentional, but it’s a reflection of my interest in holiday pop originals. Most of the time, people do covers and I understand why. It’s hard to write a really good new Christmas songs and people usually want to hear to old ones anyway. So, if you’ve got some daringly original take on “White Christmas” that’s nothing like the other 5,000 versions, go for it.
