Two new songs dropped into the ol’ mailbag this week and I’m passing ‘em along. No theme today. No reason. Just stuff I liked.
Four Tet‘s new release is Remixes. It includes a 2003 mix from the late, great Jay Dee of “As Serious As Your Life,” a track from Four Tet’s album Rounds. The groove is similar to the original, but Dilla gave it that characteristic soulful touch of his.
Then we’ve got Brooklyn (Williamsburg) duo Matt & Kim. Matt Johnson’s on keyboards, Kim Schifino’s on drums. I guess Kim does art too? Or they both do screenprinted posters and drawings? Is it wrong to mention that Kim seems super sexy? Is it?
