I love getting mail. It makes a nice change from the incessant stream of comment spam.
Bands have started sending me their music. I’m always happy to listen. Can’t promise I’ll do anything. But I might post ‘em.
For example, here are two tracks. The first is from Britain’s Archie Bronson Outfit. They name check The Beatles, Captain Beefheart, Pere Ubu, and The Monks. This track is from their album Derdang Derdang. You can see a TV advert for the album here.
The second song is from The Grand Marquee, whose influences include The Psychedelic Furs, The Jesus & Mary Chain, Bauhaus, Joy Division, Television, etcetera, etcetera and so on…
Based on the last time I did this, you may notice a certain coolness on my part. No offense intended. I’m just not as much into all of these retro New Wave bands that are all the rage today as some other folks are. I can dig it, just as I dug the sound 20+ years ago. Others may be more enthusiastic, so fire away in the comments.
