More than this

As a follow-up to last week’s Year in Review, here’s an update to a post that continues to be popular.

A few months ago, I posted a couple tracks from the latest Sergio Mendes album Timeless, which is a collaboration with will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas. I thought the album was okay and I thought the lead-off track, a remake of the classic Brasil ’66 song “Mais Que Nada,” wasn’t as good as the original.

As weeks and months went by, people kept posting in the comments about “Mais Que Nada.” They wanted to know the lyrics. They wanted to talk about the meaning of the song. Someone pointed out that the new version (as have lot of the other versions over the years) has spelled it “Mas Que Nada,” which isn’t quite the same expression.

Anyway, the people have spoken. If you love it so much, then here ’tis.
