“Run for cover, mutha…”

Missy 'Misdemeanor' ElliottI made a casual offer this week, so now I gotta pay up. Here you go, girish: Two Missy Elliot mash-ups.

Actually, these were two I could lay my immediate hands on. I know I have more, but I couldn’t locate them. Perhaps in the future…

AgentLovelette was one of many bootleggers who tackled the London Booted project, which mashed up the entirety of The Clash’s London Calling album. The track “Burning Hot Jazz” cuts up the Clash’s “Jimmy Jazz” and adds Missy’s vocals from “I’m Really Hot” (from her album This is Not a Test). There are also bits of Meat Beat Manifesto, Wire and Elastica.

Then, Xerox Soundsystem creates a mélange, consisting of:

Daft Punk’s “Around The World” with Missy’s “Pass The Dutch” and Garbage’s “Androgyny” with a snippet of Kylie smaller than the lass herself.

That’s Kylie Minogue’s “Can’t Get You Out of My Head (dubapella mix).” Plus, there’s a little of Coldcut’s “Timber.”

    Merci, Monsieur Pop View.

I have all of Missy’s records (and also Timbo’s) but not a single mash-up, so these are most appreciated.
