The Wu-Tang Clan is pulling together and heading back out on the road.
It’s not an easy reunion, as this profile in the Village Voice demonstrates. But this review from Rolling Stone of their first show gives some evidence that they may pull it off. This piece from the Hartford Courant quotes Oliver Wang on the impact of the Wu.
One of my best gifts this past Christmas was The Wu-Tang Manual: Enter the 36 Chambers, Volume One, an amazing book by The RZA which tells the history of the group, outlines some of their influences and philosophies, provides annotated lyrics, discusses production techniques, and generally blows your mind.
