Speaking of Shadow, as we have this week, Diplo of Hollertronix did a great 42-minute mix last year which uses a number of songs from DJ Shadow along with anything else he could think of. Diplo has described this as being one of his “artsy-fartsy” mixes. The dude likes him some Southern hip-hop, whether it’s Miami bass, crunk or Baltimore Club.
Here it is: Diplo vs. Shadow (Megatroid Mix).
I can’t guarantee in any way to the accuracy of this track listing; in fact, there are a couple songs by Shadow that I recognize, but they’re not specifically listed. I’m fairly sure it’s not in order. But it’s a start.
Giorgio Moroder “Tears”
DJ Shadow “Organ Donor”
Incredible Bongo Band “In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida”
Outkast “Rosa Parks”
DJ Shadow “Hindsight”
Roy Ayers “We Live In Brooklyn Baby”
David Axelrod “The Human Abstract”
David McCallum “House Of Mirrors”
TV On The Radio “Staring At The Sun”
DJ Shadow “Blood On The Motorway”
Bmore Breaks “Gospel Bonus Beats”
Diplo “Summers Gonna”
Johnny Blaze “Tour To Burn”
Diplo “Into The Sun”
Scatta “Coolie Dance Rhythm”
Unknown “Aloo Aloo Rhythm”
Diplo “Way More”
T.I. “Rubber Band Man”
Timbaland “Indian Flute”
Diplo “Indian Thick Jawns”
Three 6 Mafia “Who Gives A Fuck Where You From”
Radiohead “Sit Down, Stand Up”
Notorious B.I.G. “Dead Wrong”
Pil “Rise”
Lady May “Round Up”
Kelis ft. Andre 3000 “Millionaire”
Arti & Mestieri “Sapir Sentir”
Kraftwerk “Tour De France”
Diplo “News Flash”
Os Carrascos “Bochecha Ardendo”
Dead Prez “Hell Yeah”
Jay-Z “PSA”
Lil Boy Blues “Seed Of Love”
UPDATE: Here are a few hints. At 9:28, right after Roy Ayers, is a remix of DJ Shadows’ “Six Days.” At 19:16, you get David McCallum (Did you know that, before gaining fame as Ilya Kuryakin on The Man from U.N.C.L.E., he was a composer?), and following that, at 20:22, comes Dead Prez, which then transitions into TV on the Radio, sounding a lot like classic Peter Gabriel. At 38:33, that’s Youngbloodz doing “Sean Paul (Get ‘Em Crunk)” over Weezer’s “Say It Ain’t So.” (Like it? Try this.) After not giving a damn — nor giving a fuck — it then shifts to Lil’ Flip’s “Game Over” juxtaposed with Radiohead.

I don’t remember where I downloaded this — not from Diplo’s site, that much I remember. If you Google it, you can find it other places.
